University of Illinois - NCSA

The Cyprus Institute has partnered with the University of Illinois' National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) for the planning and implementation of the Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC).

The partnership will provide the formation of a Planning Committee and a Scientific Advisory Committee comprising internationally recognised experts.

This founding partnership will involve the launching of joint educational and research programs, as well as a close collaboration on the design and planning of the future Center. An important milestone is the recently approved Enterprise Plan.  Sustained involvement is envisioned through continued collaborative research, joint efforts in faculty and staff recruitment to the Center, joint recruitment and education of graduate students, faculty and staff exchanges, training and advice, concerning in particular the definition of the research themes and programs, and the training of scientific and technical staff, who will have opportunities to visit Illinois and study the latest computing resources and computational techniques.
