Abdou M. Abdel-Rehim has B.Sc. from Ain-Shams University in Egypt. He obtained his PhD in Theoretical Particle Physics from Syracuse University in the U.S.A in 2003. He also studied at the Abdus-Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics in Italy. Dr. Abdel-Rehim has held research positions at the University of Regina in Canada, Baylor University, and the College of William and Mary in the United States. Abdou's research goal is understanding nuclear matter using the methods of lattice QCD. To achieve this goal, he combines innovative techniques from lattice gauge theories together with efficient numerical algorithms and high performance computing. Abdou joined The Cyprus Institute in 2011 as an Associate Research Scientist in Computational High Energy and Nuclear Physics working on the PRACE-2P project. |
