The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus and The Cyprus Institute signed on Tuesday, 17 November 2009, a Memorandum of Understanding concerning research collaboration in the areas of environment and health in general and in particular the cooperative research  between the State General Laboratory of the Ministry of Health and the Energy, Environment and Water Research Center (EEWRC) of the Cyprus Institute. 

Collaborative research projects will explore consequences of climate change and related water scarcity on heat related health hazards, the spread of vector-borne diseases, water quality and the transmittal of infectious illnesses.
