The Municipality of Geroskipou, the Municipality of Pafos, and the Cyprus Institute (CyI) signed a collaboration agreement in June 2007 agreeing to cooperate for the establishment and development of activities of the CyI and of its collaborating institutions in the municipalities of Pafos and Geroskipou.

In the first instance the activities will involve the following actions:

• Establishment of the laboratories of the Research Center for Science and Technology in Archaeology (STARC);
• Establishment of the CyI and STARC Administration: Administrative and financial Center, Center for Information and Promotion;
• Development of marine activities (i.e. on environmental, energy and archaeological research) of the CyI;
• Organization of conferences, workshops and summer/winter schools related to the scientific activities of the CyI.
