Efficient agro-food systems and sustainable value chains can play a key role in fostering the economic growth of the Mediterranean area, promoting wellbeing, healthier and more inclusive societies, and stabilizing migrations. Lacks in current value chains are discussed with the aim to propose possible solutions based on technological and organizational innovations, also through multi-stakeholders cooperation, and to boost environmental and social sustainability.
About the Speaker
Professor Angelo Riccaboni is full Professor of “Management Control Systems” at the Richard Goodwin School of Economics and Management at the University of Siena, and Past Rector of the University of Siena (2010-2016). He is Chair of the PRIMA Foundation.
He was Chair of the CRUI Foundation (2014-2016), the operating body of the Association of Italian Rectors and a member of the Board of the International Association of Universities (IAU). He is Member of the Leadership Council of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and Chair of the Regional Centre of the SDSN for the Mediterranean.
His research focuses on Business Governance and Management Control issues and on the role of organizations and universities to promote Sustainable Development. He has been President of SIDREA (Italian Society of Accounting and Business Administration Teachers).
