CyI Researchers Participate in the SolarPACES 2019 South Korea Conference

A number of CyI researchers participated in the SolarPACES 2019 South Korea Conference that took place Oct. 1 – 4 in Daegu, South Korea. Marios C. Georgiou and Aris Bonanos, delivered oral presentations on the “Operational Experience of Hot Air Preheating at the PROTEAS Facility” and on “Characterization of Mirror Soiling in CSP Applications”, respectively.

The presentation by Aris Bonanos about Mirror Soiling in CSP Applications, was mentioned in the Closing Session of the SolarPACES Conference, and the rapporteur indicated that he found the topic of the presentation of particular interest. This is the second year in a row in which the research done at CyI’s Solar Energy and Desalination Group is mentioned in the Closing Session of SolarPACES. In the previous SolarPACES Conference in Morocco, the oral presentation and CyI article “Object oriented modelling of the CSP-DSW facility”, was also mentioned as of particular interest.

In summary, our participation in the SolarPACES Conference was a complete success both in terms of the quality of the content presented by our researchers, but also in terms of the SolarPACES Executive Committee, as Prof. Manuel Blanco was re-elected for another two-year term as Vice-Chair of the SolarPACES Executive Committee.
