Visit by the Ambassador of the Netherlands

On Wednesday, 21st of April 2021, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Nicosia, H.E. Ms. Elke Merks-Schaapveld, visited The Cyprus Institute's premises. The ambassador was informed about the large number of scientific and educational cooperation efforts between The Cyprus Institute and Dutch research institutions, and both parts discussed opportunities for further collaboration, especially in the fields of innovation and Sustainable Development, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (17SDGs).

Hosting the meeting was CyI’s President, Prof. George Christophides, in the presence of  CyI's Assistant Vice President for International Relations, Dr Nicolas Jarraud and CyI's Associate Professor, Hydrology and Water Management, Dr Adriana Bruggeman.

Finally, the Ambassador expressed her thanks for the opportunity to visit, and congratulated the Administration and the Scientists of the Institute for the impressive facilities and their research achievements, and assured them that her support for The Cyprus Institute is strong and will only continue to grow.
