Program Overview

The full name of the final degree is Doctor of Philosophy in Energy, Environment and Atmospheric Sciences. The goal of the program is to promote excellence and educate students in energy, environmental, and atmospheric sciences, sectors that are all interconnected and of high priority for Cyprus and internationally.
The challenging curricula will include i) two mandatory courses aiming to establish a common basis of scientific knowledge among students from different disciplines, ii) one (from a pool or three) mandatory track courses depending on the sector (energy, environment, or atmosphere) selected by each student, as well as iii) a number of electives that provide in-depth insight into a variety of more specialized and important topics.
Doctoral candidates will perform research under The Energy, Environment, and Water Research Center (EEWRC) and/or the Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C) within internationally recognized research teams in the fields of: Solar Energy and Desalination, Climate Change and Impacts, Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology, Environmental Research and Monitoring, Water Research and Management, and Sustainable Built Environment.
The program will provide the necessary educational setting where excellence in education and research are fostered through interdisciplinary collaboration on regional problems of global significance.
