Constantinos joined the Cyprus Institute in July 2018. Prior to this, he was employed at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden. He is an energy systems modeller with 8 years experience in the field. His work initially focused on modelling scenarios for the energization of the African continent via a cost optimization approach. Then, in collaboration with other colleagues at KTH, Constantinos helped in the development of the first open-access Africa-wide bottom-up model with technology detail at the national level with potential for cross-border electricity trade. Following an IRENA-funded project assessing renewable energy deployment in the electricity supply system of Cyprus, Constantinos led the development of a comprehensive open-source energy systems model for the government of Cyprus in a European Commission funded-project. He holds a PhD in Energy and Environmental Systems and an MSc in Sustainable Technology from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden, and a BSc (Hons) in Environmental and Resource Sciences from Trent University in Peterborough, Canada.
