Dr. Emmanuel Alejandro Albanes Ojeda holds a BSc degree in physics, an MSc (National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); 2014) degree in Materials Science and Engineering, and a Ph.D. (UNAM; 2018) in Materials Science and Engineering. His main fields of expertise include the characterization of nanomaterials (e.g., X-ray diffraction technique, SEM, TEM, FTIR, TGA, DSC, N2 adsorption-desorption curves, mechanical analysis, and wettability) and their application. He knows different synthesis methods (e.g. Hydrothermal, Air-Jet Spinning, Electrospinning, and Spray Pyrolysis Technique).

In the private sector, he was working as a writer and after that, he became coordinator of renowned mathematics teaching college in Mexico and presented the college’s teaching methodology in 2015 at the International Conference and Executive Board Meeting of UNESCO club in Beijing China.

He joined CyI on Sep 1st, 2020 as a Research Assistant in the Instrumentation Lab and Nano-Lab facilities (INL) of the Climate & Atmospheric Research Center (CARE-C),  leading the CyI’s contribution to the INNOVATE-COVID/0420/0009 project. That project aimed to develop a prototype of a low-cost aerosol-to-liquid bio sampler that could collect different particles (including SARS-CoV-2) and it was presented at the European Aerosol Conference 2021.
