EKCO Maximum Power Managing Directors Visit PROTEAS Facility

Options for close cooperation between The Cyprus Institute and EKCO Maximum Power, a company that deals with electric Vehicle Charging Solutions, were broadly explored during a visit, on Friday, 4th of November 2022, of the company’s Managing Directors Mr. Elias Kokkinos and Mr. Charalambos Onoufriou to PROTEAS Facility in Pentakomo on the outskirts of Limassol.
 
Hosting the meeting was CyI Assistant Vice President for Strategy and Development Dr. Konstantinos Kleovoulou, in the presence of the Head of PROTEAS Facility, Dr Marios C. Georgiou, and CyI Associate Research Scientist, Dr Nestor Fylaktos.
 
Following an overall presentation of the PROTEAS facility, Mr. Elias Kokkinos and Mr. Charalambos Onoufriou were given a guided tour of the unique site after which they expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to visit, congratulating CyI scientists and personnel for their impressive and innovative work and research achievements.
 
Finally, the two businessmen expressed the hope that CyI and EKCO Maximum Power will cooperate on multiple issues for the benefit of society and the economy.
 
Inaugurated in October 2015, PROTEAS Facility is the largest research infrastructure in Cyprus. Its mission is to pursue research, development of solar technologies, as well as testing of Renewable Energy Sources with emphasis on Concentrating Solar Thermal (CST), Thermal Energy Storage (TES) and Thermal Desalination of Sea Water (DSW) for bridging the gap between fundamental research and industrial needs.
