Demetra joined The Cyprus Institute as a Communications Assistant in December 2021. She is a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in French and Spanish from Queen Mary College, University of London, after graduating from the trilingual private school of St. Joseph in the heart of Nicosia and Tottenham College in London.
She worked as a freelance journalist for various magazines and newspapers and as a communications consultant in the British Capital where she gained extensive experience in the two sectors as well as in travelling to various countries across the globe.
For 20 years she worked as senior journalist and editor in English language newspapers and magazines and as an associate of French and British TV channels, where she interviewed a number of personalities and Science figures and covered major events, before joining the Greek language web media and the Cyprus television sector as a news editor in 2015. She is fluent in Greek, English, French and Spanish and has a good comprehension of the Italian language.
