Michalis Philippou is a licensed Architect Engineer, member of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK). He is a holder of the 5 year Diploma (DipArch) in Architectural Engineering, conducted at the Frederick University of Cyprus and also a holder of the MSc degree in Digital Design and Interactive Built Environments, from the University of Sheffield, UK.
Throughout the years of his study, Michalis has created many personal projects with 3D and 2D Software, such as architectural concepts and architectural modeling, architectural renderings and architectural 2D and 3D designs. He has also dealt with the subject of Biomimicry in Architecture, which he had the opportunity to study further during his postgraduate studies. His MSc Thesis was titled: “Bio Inspired Water Gathering Footbridge”.
Prior to his employment at the Institute, he was placed as the Lead Architect of a real estate development company, where he was in charge of the designing, managing and supervising of all projects. Among his duties was also to educate and supervise junior and trainee employees. Michalis has also been employed at one of the most noted architectural firms in Cyprus, where he gained important experience in various projects and constructions, architectural contests and renovations, within and outside Cyprus.
