Elias joined the Energy, Environment and Water Research Center (EEWRC) of the Cyprus Institute as a PhD Student / Graduate Research Assistant in March 2023.
He is a graduate Chemical Engineer of the National Technical University of Athens (2021) specialised in Energy, Environment and Sustainable Systems. His master thesis title was ‘Research and Design of Power Infrastructure for the Transformation of a Greek Island into a Smart Island’.
Whilst to his studies he worked closely on various microgrid pilot projects in the developing countries (DRC, Mozambique, Nigeria), focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals with the funding support of international organisations such as Innovate UK and EEP Africa.
In 2022 he worked closely on a decarbonization projects for a variety of businesses and industries in Cyprus under ISO 14064:2018, reporting all occurring GHG emissions and proposing solutions for monitoring and reduction.
