Elias Giannakis is an associate research scientist in environmental and spatial economics at the Energy, Environment and Water Research Center of the Cyprus Institute. He holds a PhD in agricultural economics from the Agricultural University of Athens (Greece). His expertise includes the development and application of macroeconomic and environmentally-extended economic models for policy impact assessment at national and regional level and the non-market valuation of environmental resources. He has applied a series of evaluation methods such as general equilibrium models, system dynamics, cost-benefit analysis and participatory processes in the context of European research projects and studies.
