Evangelos received a BSc in Physics from the University of Athens, an MSc in Weather, Climate and Modeling and a PhD in Meteorology, from the University of Reading, UK. The subject of his PhD research was “Aspects of Northern Hemisphere Blocking Climatology”. He was previously an associate researcher at the Atmospheric Modeling and Weather Forecasting Group, University of Athens, with the principal duty being the preparation of a 25-year high resolution reanalysis with the aid of the LAPS system, within the framework of CIRCE EU project. His expertise lies in synoptic/dynamic meteorology and large scale atmospheric circulation. At EEWRC, he contributes to the understanding of the mechanisms that shape the climate of the Mediterranean region and its future evolution.
