Memorandum of Understanding between The Cyprus Institute (CyI) and Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) for strengthening research ties
A Memorandum of Understanding aiming to further strengthening the existing cooperation between the two institutions was signed on November 13.
The MoU was signed by the President of The Cyprus Institute Prof. Costas N. Papanicolas and the Rector of the Cyprus University of Technology Prof. Elpida Keravnou-Papaeliou, in the presence of CyI’s Executive Committee Chair Dr. Andreas Pittas. The ceremony was attended by members of the academic and research staff of both institutions.
The MoU marks the further strengthening of cooperation between the two institutions in several fields of scientific research such as the environment and climate change, energy and culture heritage. Both institutions are aiming to develop joint research activities and joint graduate educational programs as well as sharing information and expertise on issues of common interest.
The possibilities for joint research and postgraduate programs focused on specific pillars such as the environment and climate change, energy and culture were discussed. The President of CyI and the Rector of the CUT stressed that such cooperation brings excellent foundation for strengthening the scientific scene and the role of Cyprus as a gateway between Europe and the Middle East in the fields of research and education.
