Marinos Costi joined EEWRC at CyI in September 2018 as a Research Assistant in Air Quality Instrumentation. He holds a BSc (University of Cyprus; 2014) degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, with focus on Material Science. During and his BSc thesis he designed and manufactured an automated and adjustable platform for importing and exporting samples from a Chemical Vapor Deposition reactor. He also holds an MSc (University of Nottingham; 2015) degree in Mechanical Engineering, with focus on Manufacturing. His MSc thesis was the development of a metrological camera-based 3D vision for micro-manufacturing.

After completing his studies, Mr. Costi worked as a Research and Development Engineer in the Cypriot industry. Currently he works as a Research Assistant in the Instrumentation Lab and the NanoLab of the CyI, where he has gained significant expertise on aerosol-based nanotechnology. His main activities at the CyI include the design and development of tools, structures and mechanisms for nanoparticle/nanomaterial synthesis and characterisation. It has been his exposure to the basic principles and tools of nano-manufacturing using aerosol-based techniques, which coupled with his innovative approach has lead him to take a leading role in the development of the DIVINE nanomaterial synthesis platform.

Mr. Costi is the co-author in number of journal publications, and participates in national and international (e.g., H2020) research projects that provide him the ability to expand his collaborator network.
