Abstract

he Delta Resonance at Physical Pion Mass from Lattice QCDLattice QCD is a powerful tool in studying the properties of hadronic matter from first principles. Precise determination of masses of strongly stable particles has become a standard with below 1% precision including all the systematical errors. Great progress has been made in studying multi-hadron systems due to the combined effects of advanced numerical methods and increasing computational power. We performed for the first time a scattering analysis in maximal isospin channel of pion nucleon scattering in the baryon sector at the physical pion mass.

We show our results for the multi-hadron spectrum and perform a Luescher-type analyis in determining the properties of the delta resonance.

About the Speaker

Dr. Ferenc Pittler completed his PhD at the University of Pecs in Hungary. The topic of his PhD was high temperature QCD with chirally symmetric quarks. Thereafter, he became a member of the BMW lattice gauge theory group and worked for three years as a Postdoc in Budapest. In 2016 he joined the lattice gauge theory group at the University of Bonn and worked on beyond standard model physics.

Since the end of 2019 he has been working at the Cyprus Institute. His main research topic is multi-hadron interactions.
