Hosting the meeting was CyI Assistant Vice-President for Institute Affairs, Dr Nicolas Jarraud, in the presence of CyI Director of Research and Technical Support, Dr Vassilios Tsakalos, CyI Manager of the Graduate School and Head of the Office of Graduate Studies, Dr Chrysanthia Leontiou, CyI Assoc. Prof Sorin Hermon, who is leading the Digital Cultural Heritage Research Group of STARC, and CyI Innovation Assistant, Mr Constantinos Kritiotis.

 

The visiting delegation members in their statements underlined the importance of cooperation between the two regional educational Institutions. Additionally, the HAC delegation was given an overview presentation of The Cyprus Institute’s educational and research activities by Dr Nicolas Jarraud, which was followed by an Overview of the Innovation Office and U-SOLVE Project. Dr Vasilios Tsakalos delivered an overview presentation of the European Digital Innovation Hub, followed by an overview of HAC by the visiting delegation members.

 

The meeting was rounded up with a discussion about possible cooperation on research, education, and innovation activities, as well as mobility of staff and students and joint courses/EU projects.

 

Finally, the HAC delegation was given a guided tour of The Cyprus Institute’s laboratories and facilities including the CyI Graduate School, the Unmanned Systems Research Laboratory (USRL), the Linear Fresnel Facility, the High-Performance Computing (HPC) Facility, and the Andreas Pittas Art Characterisation (APAC) Laboratories, led by Dr Jarraud.

 

Before departing, the HAC delegation expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to visit and congratulated the CyI administration and researchers for their research and achievements.
