On Wednesday, November 1^st, 2023, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of DISY, Mrs. Annita Demetriou, together with Mrs. Nandia Karayianni and Mrs. Maniana Kalogeraki, visited The Cyprus Institute’s premises in Nicosia, to learn more about the Institute, its activities and achievements.

 

Following a brief presentation on The Cyprus institute’s research and educational activities and milestones by CyI President Prof. Stavros Malas, Mrs. Demetriou highlighted the importance of the state investing in research and innovation while concurrently providing support for The Cyprus Institute's work.

 

“I am impressed by the outstanding results which bring honor to our country. These outcomes will play a crucial role in shaping important decisions for specific policy areas or directions, especially considering the numerous challenges we must confront”, she stated.

 

Prof. Malas expressed his gratitude to Mrs. Demetriou for her visit, highlighting that The Cyprus Institute is actively contributing to the advancement of Cyprus through notable achievements in research and the creation of significant opportunities in the field of innovation. He assured Ms. Dimitriou that The Cyprus Institute remains committed to uplifting Cyprus, emphasizing that investing in research and technology is a key step towards sustainable development.
