The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Cyprus, H.E. Mrs. Elke Merks-Schaapveld, along with Mr. Guus de Vries, Policy Officer at the Directorate of Integration Europe, visited The Cyprus Institute’s premises in Athalassa on Wednesday, 26th of July 2023, to learn about the Institute and its activities and to explore possible areas of collaboration between the Embassy and the Institute.

 

Hosting the meeting was CyI President Prof. Stavros Malas, in the presence of Dr. Michalis Yiangou, Vice President of Operations, Mrs. Eleni Sophocleous, Assistant Vice President of Policies and Institute Affairs, and EEWRC Associate Professor Dr. Adriana Bruggeman.

 

A presentation on The Cyprus institute’s activities & achievements was followed by a discussion on possible areas of collaboration and finally a guided tour of selected CyI facilities, including the Andreas Pittas Art Characterisation Laboratory (APAC Labs), the High-Performance Computing Facility (HPC), and the Soil and Water Laboratory.
