Visit of the Ambassador of Greece, Mr. Ioannis Papameletiou at CyI

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Nicosia, H.E. Mr Ioannis Papameletiou, along with a delegation, visited The Cyprus Institute’s premises in Athalassa, Nicosia.

Hosting the meeting was CyI President, Prof. Costas N. Papanicolas, in the presence of CyI Vice President for Operations, Dr Michalis Yiangou, CyI Director of Research and Technical Support, Dr Vassilis Tsakalos, CyI Assoc. Prof. in Energy Policy Theodoros Zachariades, CyI Assoc. Prof., George Biskos, CyI Associate Research Scientist, Dr Nestor Fylaktos, CyI Prof. (ERA-Chair) Vangelis Harmandaris, CyI Assoc. Prof. Evi Margaritis, and CyI Assist. Prof., Dr Efi Nikita.

Following a brief presentation on the Institute’s research and educational activities by Dr Vasilis Tsakalos, the Ambassador and the Greek delegation, were given a guided tour of CyI campus and Institute’s laboratories, including Unmanned Systems Research Laboratory (USRL), High Performance Computing (HPC) Facility, Environmental Archaeology Lab and Andreas Pittas Art Characterization (APAC) Laboratories.

Finally, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to visit, and congratulated the administration and the scientists of the Institute for their exceptional work and research achievements.
