Christos Christofi joined the Energy, Environment and Water Research Centre (EEWRC) of the Cyprus Institute in February of 2013 as a PhD student. He received a Master of Science in Environmental Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1998 and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Geology from Rutgers State University (N.J.) in 1996. His graduate thesis was titled “Competition of Cd, Cu and Pb Adsorption on Goethite”. He worked as a mine and environmental geologist at the Hellenic Copper Mine from 1999 to 2001. He then joined the hydrogeology section of the Geological Survey Department of the Ministry of Agriculture Natural Resource and the Environment of the Republic of Cyprus, where he holds the position of the Geological Officer up to today. From his current position, he mostly deals with ground water prospecting, research and balancing as well as groundwater pollution prevention and protection.

Hydrochemistry, fractured hydrogeology, isotope hydrogeology, groundwater pollution prevention and protection.
