Dr Chovalopoulou is a biologist with specialization in biological anthropology. She has participated in the anthropological research of the skeletal remains from the Kastrouli – Mesokampos (Desfina) and the Alasarna (Corfu) archaeological sites. She conducted a postdoctoral research titled “Development and implementation of novel 3d geometric morphometric analysis on modern Greek population sample crania” at the Malcolm H. Wiener Laboratory for Archaeological Science and she has been awarded a Marie-Curie widening fellowship for a project titled “The Human Jigsaw: Matching articulating skeletal elements from mass burials” at STARC.
She has participated in 3 international and 15 national conferences and has 20 publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
