The Cyprus Institute

Charalampos Spanos is a GIS Data Scientist at the Science and Technology in Archaeology and Culture Research Center (STARC) of The Cyprus Institute. He holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and a Master of Science degree in Urbanism of the Technical University of Delft (TU Delft).

 

During his studies, he explored innovative approaches in urban design, including computational methods, for analysing and designing the urban environment. His work showcases a multi-methods approach that bridges traditional urbanism and technological solutions for evidence-based user-oriented urban planning. His experience as research assistant equipped him with in-depth knowledge about recording, documenting and analysing masonry structures with timber roofing system with integrated technological methods.
