Student Mobility for Studies

A study period abroad at a partner higher education institution.

  • It must be part of the student's study programme
  • It may include a traineeship period (before, after or at the same time as the study period)
  • It may be carried out as a blended mobility (combination of physical mobility with a virtual component)
  • An inter-institutional agreement between the sending and receiving organization is a pre-requisite for a study mobility to take place

 

Duration


Master’s students:

Short-term mobility: 5 - 30 days (compulsory virtual component; min. award of 3 ECTS)

Long-term mobility: 2 - 3 months

Doctoral students:

Short-term: 5 - 30 days

Long-term: 2 - 3 months

 

Student Mobility for Traineeship

A traineeship (work placement, internship, research assistantship) abroad in an enterprise, a research institute, a laboratory, an organisation or any other relevant workplace.

  • Participants have to work full time, based on their receiving organisation’s working time.
  • The traineeship may be carried out as a blended mobility (combination of physical mobility with a virtual component)
  • Recent graduates are eligible to receive funding for a student mobility for traineeship, but must be selected during their last year of study, and must carry out and complete their traineeship abroad within one year of graduation
  • A traineeship can take place in the context of Horizon Europe funded research projects, in full respect of the principle of no double EU funding of activities

 

Eligible Receiving Organizations

  • HEIs

  • Any public or private organisation active in the labour market or in the fields of education, training, youth, research and innovation. For example, such organisation can be:

    • a public or private, a small, medium or large enterprise (including social enterprises)

    • a public body at local, regional or national level

    • embassies or consular offices of the sending EU Member State or third country associated to the Programme

    • a social partner or other representative of working life, including chambers of commerce, craft/professional associations and trade unions

    • a research institute

    • a foundation

    • a school/institute/educational centre (at any level, from pre-school to upper secondary education, and including vocational education and adult education)

  • A non-profit organisation, association, NGO

  • A body providing career guidance, professional counselling and information services

  • EU institutions, bodies and agencies are not eligible

Master’s students:
