Further options for closer cooperation were discussed on Friday, 18^th of November 2022, during a visit of Wallbox delegation, including its Account Executive, South-Eastern Europe and Turkey, Mrs. Ela Jurko, and the official distributor of Wallbox in Cyprus, EKCO Maximum Power, represented by its Managing Directors, Mr. Elias Kokkinos, and Mr. Charalambos Onoufriou at The Cyprus Institute’s PROTEAS Facility in Pentakomo, Limassol.

Following an overall presentation and broad discussion at the PROTEAS main building, the delegations were given a guided tour, after which they expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to visit, as well as for the fruitful discussion.

Hosting the meeting was CyI Assistant Vice President for Strategy and Development, Dr Konstantinos Kleovoulou, in the presence of CyI Leader of the Sustainable Built Environment Group and Director of the Environmental Sensing Laboratory, Prof. Salvatore Carlucci, CyI Associate Research Scientist, Dr Nestoras Fylaktos, and CyI Associate Research Scientist for Concentrated Solar Power, Dr Alaric Montenon.

During the visit, CyI and companies expressed their vision to cooperate on multiple issues on a long-term basis, for the benefit of society and the economy of Cyprus regarding electric vehicle charging solutions.

Inaugurated in October 2015, PROTEAS Facility is the largest research infrastructure in Cyprus. Its mission is to pursue research, development of solar technologies, as well as testing of Renewable Energy Sources with emphasis on Concentrating Solar Thermal (CST), Thermal Energy Storage (TES) and Thermal Desalination of Sea Water (DSW) for bridging the gap between fundamental research and industrial needs.
